Jaswant Niwas Homestay

Jaswant Nivas

We were already on road from the past 3 days, I, my husband and our dog were coming from Pune to Jodhpur. Next day was also going to be another long road trip to Punjab from Jodhpur. Our car was filled with luggage and I had my doubts as my husband had booked a homestay in Jodhpur. In India, Homestays are not well-tailored and also people sometimes doubt homestays as just another paying guest kind of arrangement.

feel royal and feel home

I am having a pup, she is just 3.5 months old and she needed space after a long day drive and I was not ready for any drama. We started driving from Vadodra 8:00 am and midway at 3:00 pm, we got a call from Mr Hemant asking about the route we were coming from, asking how our drive was going, by when would we enter Jodhpur. 2 more such calls until we reached the place, like what my dog would eat in the evening, please drive little slow before 60-70 km of left overdrive to Jodhpur, you might get a ticket by Jodhpur police. I became so suspicious that this person might keep me home arrest, but to my surprise as soon as I reached to this place at 5:30 pm, Mr Hemant himself was waiting for us right at the main gate. A big teddy bear kind of personality in his traditional white kurta, He welcomed us with a warm smile and took our car inside his personal parking. I could not imagine all that young energetic conversation was made by this person; He is indeed young at heart. He helped my dog to be at complete peace by showing her the big lawn he has got in the house.

Can u imagine it not just a showpeice but real plant

This place has a big traditional Rajasthani corridor which is not very common these days in big cities. By now my mind connected and acknowledged the fact that this is why Rajasthani’s are called most humble people on earth.

A small library with small dining area

Rooms are cozy and very ethnic with all the modern amenities. I could not believe interiors and the garden is maintained by the family themselves.

When I arrived at this place it was already 5:30 pm evening. We were served Indian masala tea with the good warm conversation of one to two hours. Mr and Mrs Hemant are so welcoming and warm. Mrs. Hemant is such a plant lover, stylish and creative person. Every piece of the decorated corner, the little shrine, little tables and interiors of this place are so traditional yet so modern in their own way.

Jodhpur handicraft is so unique and priceless

We got food and drinks from outside and we were apprehensive if we could eat food inside our rooms. Mr Hemant guided us to the dining room and its grandeur place where you would like to have dinner with your loved ones. The place has a beautiful terrace and you can have candid conversation sipping beer. The place welcomes you with all heart and soul and I look forward to another visit to this place sometime in near future.

This place is certainly home away from home.
